Definitions of Pornography and Erotica Used by AntiPornography.org
DEFINITIONS
For the time being the definitions used by AntiPornography.org are as follows:
PORNOGRAPHY: Material that combines sex and/or the exposure of genitals with abuse or degradation in a manner that appears to endorse, condone, or encourage such behavior.
EROTICA: Sexually suggestive or arousing material that is free of sexism, racism, and homophobia, and respectful of all human beings and animals portrayed.
So because by definition pornography, (as it is used here), has to include abuse or degradation, if you are against abuse and degradation in regards to sexuality, then you are against pornography. So assuming that you are, welcome to the team!
Note: AntiPornography.org is not in favor of open public displays of erotica as described above, underage access to it, compulsive use of it, or access or use of it in a relationship without the knowledge and consent of one's partner. AntiPornography.org also does not promote, endorse, or encourage viewing of erotica as defined above. It is just not what we are speaking out against. Please also note that any materials clearly sexually objectifying the particpants solely for the purposes of sexual arousal or masturbation, such an airbrushed Playboy centerfold overtly presenting a woman as nothing more than a sex object who exists to sexually please men, is not respectful of the dignity of the woman involved, does not treat or present her as a whole human being with humanity, and would therefore not be considered "erotica" per the definition above. An example of what could be considered erotica would perhaps be a love scene in a movie in which the two participants interact as respectful equals in a romantic or sexual way.
Finally please note that the above definition of pornography also matches what the pornography industry itself chooses to identify as it's "product." (Note: Some names and URLs have been altered with "abcd" substituted in for other words in order to not direct people to actual pornography sites.)
